We are looking for a passionate and motivated member of staff to join our team as a Nursery Assistant. You will assist in ensuring the children in our nursery have the best possible care, whilst meeting their individual needs. You will support the Room Leader and other staff in providing a safe, healthy, fun, stimulating and calm environment, making sure the children have full access to our curriculum.
Key working Relationship: Children, Parents/Carers and Nursery Staff
Responsible To: Room Leader, Deputy Manager and Nursery Managers
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday start and finish times on rota system.
Pay: Dependent on experience
> Support each child to ensure they get a good start and are encouraged to progress to the next stage of their learning within the areas of the EYFS.
> Assist in the day to day running of the nursery.
> Support individual children ensuring they receive the best possible care.
> Support children at mealtimes and care routines throughout the day, which will include, feeding, cleaning of face and hands and following our care procedure when changing or assisting children/babies in the bathroom.
> Assist in planning activities and opportunities for their individual learning, encouraging their progress within the EYFS.
> To observe, assess and complete individual child's learning journeys and liaise closely with parents regarding their child's development.
> Keep up to date knowledge on Safeguarding Children as relating to your role. This will include attending staff meetings, training as and when required including Mandatory and Statutory training.
> To support the team in delivering the aims and objectives of the nursery, according to established good practice, Hospital and Nursery Polices and Statutory Requirements with respect to an OFSTED inspection.
> To support the staff to ensure all areas of the Early Years statutory framework are met as well as Ofsted guidelines
> To attend and contribute to parent evenings and open days, and feedback to parents/guardians on the development of their children as appropriate
> Report any relevant information to the Room Leader or Manager
> To undertake such other duties appropriate to the scope and grading of the post and/or as designated by the Nursery Line Manager.
